The St. Luke’s Sports & Event Center was created to provide a community of 3,000 with a place to come together.

Situated on a heavily wooded site, this community ice arena replaces an existing, dilapidated facility. The new arena includes seating for 1,200, a multipurpose community room, upper and lower lobbies, and a warming room. During the skating season, it’s used as an ice arena. During the off-season, it’s used for other community events, such as community meetings, graduations, concerts and trade shows. This facility is more than just an ice arena; it’s a place for the community to gather.

The design reflects the logging, mining and railroad history of the town, and makes a connection to the local skating community. Proctor’s school colors of green and black are highlighted in the dasher board cap rails, glass supports and seating. A steel trellis canopy welcomes visitors, and locally manufactured Douglas fir wood paneling helps with wayfinding throughout the facility. These small details echo Proctor’s rich history, as well as the town’s current status.
