The Recreation Center at Southridge is the most recent of four recreation facilities built in Highlands Ranch. It focuses on such community programs as arts and crafts, culinary education, community theater (performed in a large Performance Hall) and programming for seniors.

The facility’s primary identifying design element is the Great Hall, which serves as the main entrance as well as the circulation spine that connects all of the program elements. The Great Hall’s 45-foot-tall curved wall is clad in quartzite stone and acts as a retaining wall on the sloping site. The lobby boasts views to the natatorium, which combines a leisure pool environment for all ages with an exercise/ fitness pool specifically targeting older adults and individuals with therapeutic needs.

Other activity spaces include a large fitness area with adjacent massage/ physical therapy rooms, a multiuse gymnasium and a community room complete with a stage and support spaces to accommodate the surge in local cultural programming.
