The Y building, a softball diamond and two outdoor pavilions represent Phase One of a four-phase project on this 27-acre site, which will also see an outdoor aquatic center, a second gymnasium and a separate 30,000-square-foot addition to the new Y.
Inside the Y, a two-story lobby and reception area provides a spacious, upscale and warm environment for social interaction. The focal point of the facility is an indoor aquatic center featuring a family fun pool with two water spray features, multiple waterslides, a warm-water pool, a six-lane lap pool, a whirlpool and a sauna, all surrounded by laminated timber beams and stone walls.
The 11,000-square-foot wellness center includes two group exercise rooms and a dedicated group cycling room. The mezzanine level features an interactive gaming center, as well as an open fitness area. With a greater emphasis on family needs, an expanded childcare area is designed to mirror the play spaces of licensed childcare centers, while providing additional opportunities for fun and play. A “Family Active Center” allows parents to work out while watching their children play. Another family-friendly feature is a 10-stall, four-restroom family locker room that allows families or special-needs members to change into bathing suits in private, while a common area includes lockers and a baby changing area.
