Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation?s two-story Ambulatory Care and Aquatic Center is named in memory of former Bacharach board member and business leader Leonard M. Hollander, and dedicated to outpatient rehabilitation services. The addition provides much-needed therapeutic space for Bacharach?s growing population.

As the building is a physical extension of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center?s current facility, it was important to create a separate identity for Bacharach with a clearly articulated entrance. The focal point of the facility is the state-ofthe- art aquatic center, located on the first floor. The wood ceiling and natural light from surrounding windows create an inviting atmosphere for aquatic therapy patients. The design also incorporates soft, soothing colors from an adjacent corridor.

A first-floor rehabilitation gym employs a wall of light-filled windows to create an invigorating workout space with the atmosphere of a commercial gym. Offering a range of equipment to accommodate both full physical therapy and occupational therapy, the spacious gym features separate zones for various activities. Privacy areas also are available. The second floor is dedicated to pediatric rehabilitation, including a gym, office/support spaces and waiting areas.
