The Health United Building (“The HUB”) is the manifestation of a unique partnership between Xavier University and TriHealth, a leading regional health system based in Cincinnati. This iconic gateway structure on the Xavier campus is an integrated home for recreation, wellness and academics that serves the university’s 5,000 students.

A dynamic three-story atrium located in the heart of the building was dubbed the “Hub of the HUB.” This space connects all users and programs throughout the building and serves as a central gathering place. The east wing of the facility contains the university’s Health & Counseling Clinic, in which health and counseling services are provided by Xavier and TriHealth. The upper levels of this wing are home to meeting areas, academic classrooms and labs, and other unique spaces designed for collaboration between students, faculty and wellness providers. The fourth floor contains the Health Services Commons, which serves as a formal meeting space for building users. The Commons opens out to a rooftop deck that provides students and faculty an outdoor space overlooking campus to reflect and recharge.

The west wing features a four-level, 100,000-square-foot Campus Recreation Center, which includes a three-court gymnasium, an indoor running track, a recreation pool, an exercise and fitness center, an exercise science lab, a physical therapy lab, a multipurpose court, wellness offices and multiple fitness studios.

A building-wide integrated graphics and branding program provided a comprehensive visual identity for the Xavier and TriHealth partnership and its collective focus on the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of the entire community.
