Becker Park Saint John's University

Collegeville, Minnesota
Construction Cost: $2.5 million
Area / Square Feet: 3,400
Occupancy Date: February 2024

Nestled within the natural oak and hardwood forest, lakes and wetlands of the Saint John’s University campus, Becker Park is home to Johnnies baseball. Construction on the synthetic turf baseball field and grandstand was completed in 2014, and the baseball complex is considered one of the finest Division III ballparks in the country. The site has since hosted the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoffs on several occasions.

The 3,400-square-foot clubhouse is the latest addition to Becker Park and was designed to meet the specific needs of student-athletes and coaches. The team locker room is the highlight of the building and contains 50 individual lockers, each equipped with charging stations, secure storage and adequate space to accommodate uniforms and other player equipment. The locker room doubles as a team lounge and meeting space and features direct access to the team dugout, providing a unique experience for players and coaches. Private showers and restroom facilities also are included.

The clubhouse was designed with a satellite training/treatment room for onsite support of athletes. The treatment room provides access to compression and cold therapy equipment, taping tables, ice and much more. Coaches’ support spaces, laundry facilities and storage also are included — all intended to meet the full onsite needs of the team.

The building was constructed with a fully accessible rooftop terrace overlooking Haugen Field. The terrace provides spectators with unobstructed sightlines of the field amid a breathtaking natural setting.
