The RBC Centre features three NHL-sized ice pads, of which one has seating for 600, and an Olympic-sized rink with room for 300 temporary seats. Other amenities include dressing rooms for the ice arenas and adjacent soccer field, a team training facility for the Halifax Mooseheads QMJHL team, concessions, a retail store and fast-food tenants, offices for Hockey Nova Scotia, a multipurpose room, a boardroom and administration offices.

The main lobby is an open two-story volume connected to the upper level via a generous feature stair prominently located at the glazed face of the building beside the entry vestibule. The second level is clearly organized with a linear public circulation and viewing area at the end of the four rinks.

The facility is targeting LEED Silver certification and is consistent with the concept of responsible and sustainable development and resource efficiency, particularly with respect to the use of water, energy and materials. It requires less energy to operate than comparable facilities.
