Built in 1993, the existing Kessler Field Stadium supported 3,000 seats and an unassuming press box. With Monmouth’s move to the Big South Conference, it was clear the existing stadium fell short of the capacity,
amenities and updated press box services of its peers across the league.
The goal of the project was to provide a first-class collegiate facility that creates a new identity for Monmouth University athletics. Kessler Stadium provides revamped stadium seating with a capacity of 4,200 seats, with enhanced seating aisles and sight lines, and expanded chair VIP seating at
midfield for 800 patrons. Amenities include new restrooms, concessions areas and a permanent ticketing box office on the main concourse level.
An expanded 40-foot-wide viewing deck on the second level extends into the seating bowl at the 50-yard line. This provides direct access to stadium seating and an open-air program space that affords the opportunity to provide additional food and beverage services to the VIP patrons and boosters. A third level is home to a state-of-the-art press box and multimedia center with program space for coaches, print and broadcast media, and video preproduction. A fourth level provides an expansive covered space
for camera positions and media.
