Little Caesars Arena in Detroit kicked off a series of grand opening events with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the $836 million complex on Tuesday.
The week-long grand-opening celebration will continue through Sept. 12, with a charity premiere Friday, a free tour for Red Wings and Pistons fans Saturday, the annual Hockeytown 5K Sunday and an inaugural concert on Sept. 12.
mLIVE shared video footage of a walk-through of the new arena, taken after the ribbon-cutting Tuesday. The video shows a wide view of the seating bowl, followed by footage of the indoor “main street” and store fronts lining the interior walkways.
Project designer HOK of St. Louis, Mo., tweeted images of newly unveiled arena interior, as well as a clip of city officials and stakeholders snipping the ceremonial ribbon.
