Garside Pool

Las Vegas, NV 2016

Project Description

The renovated Garside Pool is the result of a collaboration between the Garside community and city of Las Vegas. Replacing the original pool built in 1971 is three distinct yet interconnected bodies of water.

The main entry area ramps up to a central plaza that includes a working water-play feature with embedded fossils highlighted in the concrete, telling the geological history of Nevada’s past.

The recreational pool includes a play structure with a small slide, spray elements and a tipping bucket, and gradually slopes from the fossil-themed mosaic at the zero-depth-entry point to a maximum depth of 2 feet, 6 inches where it adjoins the lap pool.

The lap pool has four dedicated lanes for swimmers, and includes a 1-meter diving board. The lap pool then transitions to the splash pool, which is home to two tube slides sloping down from a single tower.
