A PLACE TO PLAY
The layout, water depths and amenities of Ridge Waters were strategically selected in an effort to lure patrons of different ages, abilities and walks of life. As users walk out of the bathhouse, they immediately encounter an 85-foot zero-depth beach entry, which gradually slopes to a depth of one foot, where patrons will find a haven for the younger generation. This area features a toddler slide, ground sprays, an interactive water table, a vertical dumping bucket tower and a 28-foot-tall play structure that have all been meticulously crafted to match the carousel theme.

WINTERIZATION
In Butte, it is not uncommon for the temperatures to plunge well below zero in the winter months. With this being an outdoor pool only open in the summer, it was crucial to design a proper winterization plan for the pool. The final design incorporates appropriately sloped underground piping that ultimately leads to a permanent dewatering well, which keeps the pool completely empty throughout the offseason. In addition, rising ground water is continually pumped off-site in an effort to keep the hydrostatic forces under the pool shell at bay.
