Monday night’s game between Hampton and host Gardner-Webb was halted at the half, with Gardner-Webb holding a 39-31 lead. Rather than cancel the second half, it will be tentatively be played on Monday, Feb. 24 at GWU’s Paul Porter Arena, according to a Gardner-Webb release.
All statistics, including personal fouls, will be carried over when play resumes. The two teams combined for 20 first-half fouls, with Hampton collecting 11 and Gardner-Webb nine.
No information was available regarding how ticketing for the second half will work, or how fans who attended the ill-fated first half will be handled.
