Watch: Virtual Tour of Cedar Falls' New Natatorium

Screen Shot 2021 12 21 At 9 19 29 Am

The Cedar Falls (Iowa) School District has approved plans for a new natatorium that will include two pools. One pool will be a 10-lane, 25-yard by 25-meter deep water competition pool; the other separate pool will be a 4 lane, shallower, 25-yard pool for teaching and therapeutic use. The two pools will have independent temperature controls, allowing the smaller pool to maintain a warmer temperature than that of the competition pool. The warmer temperature is much more conducive to special needs programming, senior programming as well as swim programming for certain elementary students and toddlers. The facility also includes an office, lifeguard meeting and/or training room, spectator seating for 500, men’s and women’s and family locker rooms, and a 1-meter diving board as well as a 3-meter diving platform. The facility will enable Cedar Falls to host larger events they previously had not been able to, including conference and regional meets. Parking and an entrance separate from the high school will allow the community to utilize the pool during school hours for activities such as lap swim, aquarobics and other programming. Take a virtual tour of the facility below:
