Earlier this week, the Logan Health Fitness Center in Kalispell, Mont., evacuated its facility due to a chlorine and chemical reaction. The evacuation took place in the mid-morning on Monday after a strong odor permeated the facility.
According to KPAX8 News, first responders were called to “evaluate the safety of the environment.”
In a post on social media, the fitness center said, “As a precaution, all employees, members and patients have been evacuated and clean up measures are underway. We are currently working with the Kalispell Fire Department to evaluate the safety of the environment. Meanwhile, all services within the facility will be closed for the remainder of the day. Members and patients will be notified when services resume. We are very thankful for the staff’s swift action to ensure everyone’s safety.”
Logan Health Fitness Center employees confirmed to KPAX8 News that there was no explosion or reaction other than the strong smell.
Later that day, the Kalispell Fire Department cleared the Logan Health Fitness Center to reopen the next day with regular hours and services. However, the pool will remain closed for maintenance through Sept. 1st.
Logan Health Fitness Center includes a six-lane, 25-yard indoor lap pool, a multi-court gymnasium, strength and cardio spaces, cross-training turf, rock climbing walls and studio space.
