Take a look as crews work on the construction of a school-YMCA athletic complex for Caledonia Community Schools in Michigan.
According to design firm Stantec, the local YMCA and Caledonia Community Schools have agreed to a partnership for the operation of the 47,000-square-foot Caledonia Athletic Complex as a community recreation center with the school district operating the Community Resource Center and hosting competitive swimming and diving team activities at the facility.
Situated adjacent to the existing Caledonia educational campus, the Caledonia Athletic Complex program includes a new recreational center with basketball court, indoor walking track, cardio, weights, and strength fitness floor, a new competition pool, separate leisure pool and spa, diverse spaces zoned by age group, flexible meeting rooms, and offices for staff, Stantec said.
Crews broke ground on the project in October 2021. The complex is expected to be completed in spring 2024.
