The University of Mississippi will expand its baseball stadium to add premium seating, according to a report Monday.

The $30 million project will add 450 to 500 seats down the third base line.

There will also be a new stadium entrance and plaza that will include a statue of former Ole Miss player Tim Elko, according to the report.

Construction is expected to begin following the 2024 season.

More projects:

  • Construction on University of Georgia’s new outdoor track and field facility is being planned to begin this summer, athletic director Josh Brooks told the UGA Athletic Association board’s facilities and development committee last week. It was not clear when the outdoor track would open or the estimated cost. A second phase would build an indoor track facility.
  • A gym franchise with an artificial-intelligence component has opened a new location in Jacksonville, Fla. At the Exercise Coach, the equipment learns a user's strength level and then shows them how much strength they'll need to exert during each exercise to get the best workout.
