Wave FC Stadium Envisioned in New Del Mar Development

A new development proposal for the Del Mar Fairgrounds includes a stadium for San Diego Wave FC, along with a hotel, restaurants, retail space, convention center and more.

The concept, called Del Mar Dreams, was presented to the 22nd District Agricultural Association board, which owns and operates the 324-acre fairgrounds on behalf of the state. The property has been home to the San Diego County Fair since 1936.

Leichtman-Levine said the project would include a purpose-built stadium for the professional women's soccer team, which currently plays at Snapdragon Stadium in partnership with San Diego State University.

Springboro Schools Begins Construction on New Sports Complex

Construction has started on Springboro City Schools new multi-sports complex, part of the district’s $115 million project that will include a new PK-2 academic building, new classrooms at the junior high school and other amenities.

The sports complex will be home to Springboro’s soccer, lacrosse and tennis programs, and will include 1,500 seats, new playing surfaces and courts, a new locker room and separate film room, digital scoreboard, concession stands, a training room and restrooms.

Most importantly, say some of the team members who will use the facility on a daily basis, the facility will be at the high school and not more than a mile and a half away on Main Street, like their current fields are at Ralph E. Wade Field at the Intermediate School.

NHL Unveils Renderings of Proposed Transformation of Princess Auto Stadium

The National Hockey League (NHL) today unveiled a first look at its planned transformation of Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic outdoor game, featuring the Winnipeg Jets and Montréal Canadiens on Sunday, October 25 (7 p.m. ET; SN, TVAS, TNT, truTV and HBO Max).

The NHL will convert the stadium into a larger-than-life Canadian cabin retreat, with the rink serving as the centerpiece of an immersive NHL Heritage Classic experience. At the heart of the stadium sits the outdoor rink, framed by oversized rustic timber logs that create the appearance of a massive cabin wall. Surrounding the ice are iconic hockey and cabin-themed elements that celebrate the rivalry between the Canadiens and Jets. Oversized team crests and pennants, vintage-style memorabilia displays, framed jerseys, crossed wooden hockey sticks adorned with antlers, and decorative plaques are embedded throughout the wooden landscape, giving the field the feel of a curated hockey lodge.
