The first climbing gym in Fort Wayne, Ind., has been forced to close its doors after postponing the facility's grand opening due to a failed city inspection.

According to WANE, Fort Wayne's first dedicated rock climbing gym, Summit City Climbing, has been forced to shut its doors to all members of the public after a city inspection said it failed to give basic utilities to guests.

“When the city came for an inspection, they said the place was not ready and no one else should be in the building," the gym said in a Facebook post. "Since the training room leads to the bathroom, we would not be able to have basic utilities for guests. Because of this we regretfully have to close our doors until this gets resolved.”

Summit City was originally supposed to open over the weekend but postponed the grand opening after realizing there was more work to do to get the facility ready. Once the work was done, a city inspection was done, which forced the gym to close.

“Please give us time and grace as we figure out what’s going on and how to move forward," the gym asked on Facebook.
