Eastern Michigan University will soon be home to Division I football's first gray playing surface. The school announced last week it will install the colored FieldTurf Revolution surface at Rynearson Stadium.

Construction on the project will begin in July as the school looks to re-brand its football program after back-to-back 2-10 seasons. The team has hired a new head coach, Chris Creighton, and nicknamed its stadium "The Factory," which according to the school is, "a place where coaches and staff will go to work each day to help “E Tough” student-athletes become scholars, leaders, champions and impact men."
