Fan Dies After Falling Over Railing at Wrigley

An autopsy is scheduled today for a fan who fell over a railing Tuesday night at Wrigley Field and died Wednesday afternoon.

Richard Garrity, 42, had watched the Chicago Cubs host the Cincinnati Reds in a game that ended at 10:20 p.m. Garrity, a 42-year-old marketing manager at Heineken, attended with his wife as part of a work outing. According to a statement released by the Cubs, Garrity was leaving the ballpark at the time of the incident. He reportedly fell over a railing and landed on his head, but as of this writing no details were available as to the location of the railing or its height, or how far down Garrity fell.
