The Ohio House this week passed a $600 million bond package as part of the Cleveland Browns' plan to build a $2.4 billion covered stadium in Brook Park.

The House passed its budget (60-39) after a series failed votes due to disagreements within the House Republican caucus.

Republican state Rep. Ron Ferguson, one of the strongest supporters of the package, told Cleveland.com the plan is the "most conservative stadium funding plan in America."

Browns owners have proposed a public-private split to pay for the stadium. Owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam are seeking for the state and Cuyahoga County each to issue $600 million in bonds, and the Haslams will cover the additional $1.2 billion.

The plan calls for an addiitional $1.2 billion in private devleopment surrounding the stadium
