The Jaguars’ EverBank Stadium is scheduled for a $1.4 billion renovation in 2026, but that massive project will come at the expense of seating capacity.
According to NBC Sports, EverBank Stadium can accommodate just over 70,000 fans, but in 2026, the stadium’s max capacity will be capped at just 43,000. In the 2027 season, stadium operators have suggested that the team won’t be able to play a home game in EverBank Stadium at all.
The EverBank Stadium renovation will be completed in time for the 2028 season.
Only the lower bowl will be open for seating during the 2026 season, with the upper deck and several other fan amenities being closed for construction. The 31-year-old stadium’s renovation project has been dubbed the “Stadium of the Future,” as Jacksonville and stadium operators plan to add a protective canopy to the structure, widen concourses, add communal spaces and lookout decks, and create immersive in-bowl technology.
“Our objective has always been the same: lock in a promising future for the Jaguars and help our downtown become an economic engine to lift all of Jacksonville, particularly areas that have been underserved,” said Shad Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars have already opened season ticket deposits for the 2028 season, the next time that EverBank Stadium will be at full capacity. Current season ticket holders received early access, and everyone else can save their spot for a $100 deposit.
