• A high school student in Oklahoma fell to his death from the top of the school’s football stadium after a game last week. An astute reader commented that the student battled depression, told others he was going to hurt himself and jumped.
• Officials in Paris reportedly found an improvised explosive device outside a soccer stadium, just hours before the Paris Saint Germain club was set to take the field. Police arrested five suspects at the scene.
• Scrutiny has been turned up on the University of Louisville in the wake of the unfolding scandal that’s rocking college basketball. Some writers are mulling whether the program deserves the NCAA’s death penalty.
• Owners Club columnist Rob Bishop penned an article for our September issue outlining the operational challenges his club has faced in recent years. Rob learned from more than one reader that they felt he was writing about their club.
