CLEVELAND - The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has announced that it will begin to administer the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) beginning in August 2012.

CLEVELAND - The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has announced that it will begin to administer the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) beginning in August 2012.
N4A, which has been in existence since 1975, is a diverse educational service and professional non-profit organization. Membership of N4A includes academic support and student services personnel who are committed to enhancing opportunities for academic, athletics and personal success for student-athletes.
"NACDA welcomes N4A as its newest affiliate association," stated NACDA President Dave Roach, director of athletics at Colgate University. "N4A is an established organization whose mission is in line with NACDA's, to provide educational opportunities and serve as a vehicle for networking, the exchange of information and advocacy on behalf of the profession."
The association serves as a liaison between the academic and athletics communities on college campuses across the country and continues to be committed to the educational pursuits of the student-athletes.
"The N4A is pleased to join the NACDA umbrella of organizations dedicated to the enhancement of intercollegiate athletics, their educational missions, and welfare of the student-athlete," stated Gerald Gurney, President of the National Association of Academic Advisers for Athletics. "I am excited for the future of our academic support professionals and look forward to the possibilities for the new collaborations made possible through this affiliation."
