Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA (February 24, 2014) — To better serve pool and spa professionals around the globe, the National Swimming Pool Foundation® has launched five new NSPF® international websites. These websites will serve colleagues around the world with NSPF’s preeminent educational courses, materials and focus — to keep pools safer and more efficient around the world.

The new websites are tailored to serve local pool and spa professionals in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Panamá. When people visit the websites, they are greeted in their language and culture, and can purchase online courses with their currency. “Each site is designed to look like the country so that it speaks to the individual who is visiting,” explained Silvia Uribe, NSPF International Business Development Manager. “While all of these countries are primarily Spanish speaking, they each have their own identity — each website makes those visitors feel at home,” she added.

Much of the valuable prevention and education information found on nspf.org is available on the new websites. “Professionals around the world are working to protect our children and families from illness, drowning and injuries. The first step to prevention is through education,” said Thomas M. Lachocki, Ph.D., CEO of the National Swimming Pool Foundation.

NSPF developed its first Spanish website in 2008, the non-profit’s first step to bringing scientifically sound education products, with improved comprehension to a broader world audience. “Ms. Uribe, a certified translator and interpreter, has helped us accelerate converting our customer’s wish lists into reality – and to reach out to more professionals globally to prepare them to prevent injury and illness,” added Alex Antoniou, Ph.D., Director of NSPF Educational Programs.

About NSPF®:

Everything we do, we believe helps people live healthier lives. We believe we can make a difference by encouraging more aquatic activity, making pools safer, and keeping them open. We do this by offering products and programs that are technically sound, convenient, and beautifully designed. We just happen to sell books, training programs, online courses, and organize conferences. Over $4 million in grants funded by NSPF since 2003 have impacted policies and practices around the world; and we attract hundreds of professionals from around the globe to the World Aquatic HealthTM Conference each year to learn of the latest advances. In 2012, we launched Step Into SwimTM Campaign, a 10-year initiative to create 1 million more swimmers. To learn more about us, go to www.nspf.org.
