Silver Spring, MD – July 29, 2014 – The Research Team at the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) recently published 98 single sport and fitness participation reports. The record number of reports makes it the largest and most diversified collection of participation studies available to the industry.
“We’re thrilled to provide such an array of participation reports our members can utilize for their business needs,” said VJ Mayor, Sr. Director of Communications and Research, SFIA. “Having access to the quality information contained in them will enable industry professionals to have their pulse on participants who purchase their current product range or any activity the company may be expanding to in the future.”
Information included in the report track a participant’s gender, participation frequency, age breakdown, geographic breakout by region, market size area, income, education level, and cross-sport participation. For 2014, Calisthenics/Bodyweight Training, Free Weights (Dumbbells), and Free Weights (Hand Weights) received new definitions. Brand new reports include Cardio Cross Trainer and Barre.
"We keep track of trends in new sports. So this year we added Cardio Cross Trainer and Barre which have significant numbers of participants already,” said Keith Storey, Vice President, Sports Marketing Surveys USA. “These reports help anyone involved in those sports to evaluate who's taking part and the potential market."
The 2014 SFIA Single Sports and Fitness Activity Reports, conducted by Sports Marketing Surveys USA, provide detailed demographic and socioeconomic information. A total of 19,240 online interviews were carried out with a nationwide sample of individuals and households from the US Online Panel of over one million people operated by Synovate/IPSOS.
The 2014 SFIA Single Sport and Fitness Participation Reports are $99 per report to all current SFIA members and $175 for non-members. More information about the reports can be found at http://www.sfia.org/research/singlereports.
