On Sept. 30, 2014, the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), the leading global trade association of manufacturers, retailers and marketers in the sports products and fitness industry, announced the 2014 class for its Future Industry Leaders Scholarship Program.
John Bodin, an Outbound Logistics Manager at EvoShield LLC, was one of only five industry professionals selected for this competitive scholarship program.
Applicants were asked to provide their vision for the future of the sports and fitness industry and how they personally intend to contribute to that vision. In his scholarship profile, Bodin explained that his love of “all things physical and the desire to protect that ability and right for future generations” inspired him to work in the industry. His current role at EvoShield, he said, perfectly combines his passion for both history and sports.
Bodin, along with the other scholars, was recognized Sept. 16 during a banquet at the SFIA Industry Leaders Summit, in Chicago. In addition to complementary attendance at the summit, scholarship recipients are afforded numerous other learning and networking opportunities within the sports and fitness industry.
Bodin originally is from Covington, Ga. He attended Parsons Academy in Conyers, Ga. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2012 with a degree in both Anthropology and Classical Culture.
Bodin joined EvoShield in 2013 and currently resides in Athens, Ga.
