(MADISON) The Madison Area Sports Commission (MASC) is proud to welcome USA Climbing 2015 American Bouldering Series (ABS) National Championships to Madison. The events that will take place over two weekends in mid-February beginning with the Open National Championship on February 6-7th followed by the Youth National Championships from February 13-15th, 2015. Both events will be held at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.
The event, co-hosted by the Boulders Climbing Gym and MASC, the ABS National Championships provides a spectacular setting for the countries’ finest bouldering climbers. The event will feature USA Climbing’s world-class bouldering wall – also used for the annual IFSC World Cup in Vail, Colorado – and an international webcast bringing the event to fans across the country and the globe.
If you are not familiar with the sport of Bouldering, think rock climbing without ropes or harnesses. Bouldering requires immense concentration, physical ability, strategy and of course amazing levels of athleticism in competition, climbers navigate the bouldering wall sight unseen. This event promises to be a very visual and spectator friendly competition.

We can’t wait to see how the unique space of Monona Terrace transformed into the climbing mecca that will be set up for the show. Come on down and check out the amazing elite climbers as well as some young up-and-comers in the sport with both the elite and youth national championships competition taking here in downtown Madison,” said Jamie Patrick Vice-President of the MASC.
The Frank Lloyd Wright designed facility will be transformed over the ten-day period as the 100 ft. Entre-Prises bouldering wall is set up inside the Monona Terrace Exhibition Hall. Spectators are welcome to catch all the action each day of competition. Admission price ranges from $5-20.
The Madison Area Sports Commission is the greater Madison area's official sports marketing organization.
