Les Mills International today announced that they have signed an agreement to acquire the Les Mills Midwest agency from SCW Fitness Education, its previous distributor in 12 U.S. states, including Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
Les Mills U.S., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Les Mills International, will assume operations of Les Mills Midwest beginning February 1, 2015. Sara Kooperman, CEO of SCW Fitness Education, stated, “I am thrilled that our Les Mills Midwest clients will remain in such good hands. We feel confident that Les Mills is positioned for a strong future.”
Phillip Mills, CEO of Les Mills International, praised the SCW Fitness Education team in saying, “Sara Kooperman and her team helped introduce the Les Mills brand to the United States and I will be forever grateful for her leadership and the collective efforts of the SCW Fitness team.” Les Mills U.S. CEO Jesper Magnusson added, “We look forward to continuing to provide a high level of customer service to our valuable club partners and instructors across the Midwest. Further, we intend to continue to build on our strong partnership with SCW Fitness, including an increased level of support of the MANIA Fitness Professional Conventions throughout the country.”
Les Mills U.S. will maintain an office presence in Chicago, along with their existing offices in San Francisco and their U.S. headquarters in Baltimore.
