IRVINE, Calif., March 4, 2015 – Star Trac, a leader in developing advanced equipment for the fitness industry, proudly announces the launch of ST Porthole, a web portal designed exclusively to support the sales and business growth of the Star Trac North American Dealer Network. As part of the Company’s commitment to maintaining open communication with their valued partners, ST Porthole provides dealers with direct access to Star Trac specific training material, sales documents, and industry trend reports as well as community and collaboration boards to promote discussion and to spark unique ideas amongst similarly focused companies.
“The Porthole is our place to consolidate all information a dealer business might need in one simple-to- access site,” explains Kevin Farley, Director of Vertical Market and Dealer Sales for Core Health and Fitness. “We wanted to make it simple to find information that pertains to a dealer’s sales, marketing and service as well as provide a platform for communication of ideas. The Porthole is just another step in the process of becoming the most progressive dealer program in the fitness industry.”
Star Trac continues to develop new and innovative ways to help their dealer partners be successful. In recent years, the Company formed the Dealer Advisory Council, which gives executives at key dealer groups throughout North America a platform to speak directly to the manufacturer about their product and business needs. From those quarterly meetings and various dealer surveys and interactions, Star Trac recognized a need to improve communication with the dealer group at both an executive and individual sales rep level in order to more fully support their partners’ growth and build stronger, symbiotic relationships.
￼With that feedback in mind, Star Trac developed the ST Porthole to serve as a depot of vital information like a calendar of events for training opportunities, trade shows, market manager travel, and boot camps; links to industry articles; sales training tools like recorded webinars, videos, and cut sheets; product and sales collateral; and other documents of value to the dealer business.
The Porthole also focuses on building a strong community of open communication and collaboration for the entire North American Dealer Network. There is a social board for brainstorming ideas and discussing business practices as well as a directory of dealer social media accounts to encourage interaction on other platforms. Additionally, ST Porthole features a photo gallery of installations across North America so that dealers can share their successes and have a portfolio of images to draw from for inspiration and marketing efforts.

In order to meet the ever-changing needs of the Dealer Network, the ST Porthole will grow to incorporate new technology and additional areas of content beneficial to the ongoing support of the dealer group. The next phase of the project includes an emphasis on assisting dealers in on-boarding new sales reps with a section of Porthole dedicated to new hire training material that pertains to both general sales practices as well as Star Trac specific sales and product training.
