Colorado Springs, Colo./March 10, 2015 — Forty-one Accu-Tab® Specialists committed to fund local aquatic programs in their own communities this year, through a cooperative partnership with Axiall Corporation and the non-profit National Swimming Pool Foundation Step Into SwimTM Campaign. Axiall’s Water Treatment Products business, manufacturers of the Accu-Tab system, and the National Swimming Pool Foundation® (NSPF®) recently agreed to each donate $5,000, for a total of $10,000, to augment the Accu-Tab Specialists’ pledges. Thanks to the support of Accu-Tab Specialists and Axiall, more people can live healthier lives by learning to swim and participating in water activities.
“There is a beautiful synergy when generosity helps our neighbors, connects local businesses with local customers, and also builds demand for our products,” said Thomas M. Lachocki, Ph.D., and CEO of NSPF.
The Specialists made their individual commitments at the recent Accu-Tab Specialist Conference in Clearwater, Fla., in response to the keynote presentation given by Dr. Lachocki. His message spotlighted the good fortune industry members enjoy because they have the ideal aquatic products at the perfect moment in time. Specialists are poised to bring more people to water for healthier lives and create a more robust industry, as we foster the desire for pools, spas and aquatic facilities. The gift of swimming opens a spectrum of aquatic activities, and creates economic growth for the health and family-focused pool and spa industry.
“We are excited to see how passionate our Specialists are about supporting healthy activities of the people in their local communities through financial support of aquatic facilities. Equipment and chemicals sold to these venues provide an ongoing livelihood to all of us in the Accu-Tab family. By giving back to our very patrons, we are completing a circle of enrichment. Lee Vaughan, vice president of National Pools of Roanoke, a leading Accu-Tab Specialist, added, “I drew tremendous inspiration from the keynote presentation. The message crystalized for me, why I do what I do each and every day. I am excited to help bring swimming lessons to our local community and create more water opportunities for our future.”
In 2012, the National Swimming Pool Foundation launched the Step Into Swim Campaign, a 10-year initiative to create one million more swimmers. Government, industry, medical professionals and insurance companies encourage increased activity. Aquatic activity is ideal for people who have bee inactive and as we grow older. The White Paper clarifies the logic that creating more swimmers solves several problems. Over the past three years, the campaign has continued to seek leading industry individuals and organizations who embrace the belief that by bringing more people to water, the industry will grow. “Getting a million new swimmers will require more great collaborations like this one with Accu-Tab Specialists and Axiall,” concluded Dr. Lachocki.
