BROOKINGS, S.D. – June 29, 2015 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, is partnering with Loyola University Maryland of Baltimore, Maryland, to upgrade Reitz Arena with new LED displays. Daktronics has designed and manufactured the displays that were installed this month.
“Daktronics has been a trusted partner with Loyola University Maryland for over 20 years and the company’s unparalleled commitment to customer service has been evident from day one” said Loyola Director of Event Services Joseph Bradley. “The new LED boards are a part of Loyola’s continued commitment to a first rate experience for our student athletes, a first class experience for our fans, and a promise to prospective recruits that Loyola has first rate athletic facilities.”
Four LED video displays, each approximately 9.5 feet high and 15.5 feet wide, were installed in each corner of the court in Reitz Arena. The displays feature 6 millimeter line spacing for superior picture quality. Wide angle visibility ensures the displays will look great from any seat in the facility. Reitz Arena holds 2,100 spectators and is home to Loyola’s basketball and volleyball teams.
The displays feature variable content zoning which allows the operator to show a large picture that uses the entire display or smaller zones in any arrangement for live video, instant replays, real-time statistics, scores, advertisements and animations.
“We are pleased to have been awarded the project and look forward to being an integral part of the new upgrades at Reitz Arena,” said Charley Bocklet, Daktronics regional manager. “Loyola has been a great customer for many years and we look forward to the continued relationship for many years to come. These new displays will provide a terrific fan experience and give Loyola total flexibility with scoring, stats and video layouts.”
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
