UNIONDALE, NY (December 2015) – Beginning in January, student athletes at New York public schools and BOCES insured by the New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR) will receive no-cost, state-of-the-art concussion baseline and post-injury testing under a recently established partnership between ImPACT Applications, Inc. and NYSIR.
Developed by clinical experts who pioneered the field, ImPACT® (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is the most scientifically validated computerized concussion evaluation system used by teams, organizations and individuals globally.
"We’re excited to work with NYSIR to provide testing throughout New York," said Michael Wahlster, chief executive officer of ImPACT Applications. "Our relationship with NYSIR will go a long way in promoting concussion awareness, identification and treatment among high school students.”
Carleen Millsaps, president of NYSIR’s Board of Governors, called the ImPACT/NYSIR initiative “a giant leap forward in our endeavors to continually provide programs and services that protect our subscribers’ student athletes. We believe this partnership further reinforces NYSIR’s commitment to subscriber risk management."
