ACSM Honors Two Students with Outgoing Editor-in-Chief Scholarship

Indianapolis, IN ( January 19,2016) — The American College of Sports Medicine has awarded $500 scholarship awards to two university students as part of its outgoing editor-in-chief (EIC) recognition scholarship program. The scholarships are awarded in honor of outgoing Editor-in-Chief Steven J. Keteyian, PhD, FACSM, of ACSM’s Health & Fitness Journal® (FIT). The purpose of this scholarship program is to recognize and continue the great legacy of EICs for ACSM’s official journals.

Editor-in-Chief Keteyian’s term with FIT came to a close at the end of 2015 and he awarded two $500 scholarships, one to Gavin Connolly at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., and the other to Mario Rusnak at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. The scholarships were earmarked to cover costs associated with attending ACSM’s Midwest Regional Chapter Annual Meeting in November.
