Previous Genesis Owners Join Board
Colorado Springs, Colorado, February 7, 2017 - The National Swimming Pool FoundationⓇ (NSPFⓇ) has made three changes to the Board of Directors which became effective as of January 1, 2017. One long-time board member, John Puetz, retired and two Genesis leaders joined to ensure the Board has strategic leaders in areas that are aligned with growing portfolio of programs.
John Puetz was first elected to the board in 2007. He retired from the NSPF Board in October 2016 after reaching his term limit. During his NSPF tenure, Puetz served as Chairman from 2011-2013 and was a member of NSPF’s Grant Review Committee. Puetz retired from his industry role as the Director of Technology and Coordinator of Global Technology-Water for Lonza in 2016 after a 42year career in pool and spa industry. “John has been a champion for collaboration and excellence. He will be missed,” shares Bruce Dunn, Chairman, NSPF Board of Directors.
Brian Van Bower, Society of Watershape DesignersTM (SWD) Master, and Skip Phillips, SWD Master, joined the NSPF Board January 1, 2017. Bower and Phillips were Principals with Genesis since 1998 and merged the company with NSPF in January of 2016 where they took on the new role as Genesis Ambassadors. Van Bower, CEO of Aquatic Consultants, and Phillips, President of Questar Pools and Spas, have a long history of leadership in design, construction, and education. The two firms and the students of Genesis have designed many of the world’s most amazing pools and spas and have earned numerous awards.
“We have a vision that the pool, hot tub, and aquatic field will play a greater role helping more families live happier and healthier lives,” says Bruce Dunn, NSPF Chairman of the Board. “The addition of Genesis to the NSPF family of programs is further enhanced by the addition of the two quality founders of the program onto the NSPF Board. This addition supports and adds guidance to our dedication of bringing a high level of educational opportunities to the aquatic world,” he concludes.
“The result of great leadership is a brighter future,” continues Thomas Lachocki, Ph.D. CEO with NSPF. “It is an honor to serve with a diverse Board with demonstrated expertise that span the public and residential pool segments,” reinforces Lachocki.
