BROOKINGS, S.D. – Nov. 22, 2017 – Wausau East and West High Schools in Wisconsin will soon upgrade their facilities with new equipment, welcoming home three new LED video boards and ten scoreboards, designed and manufactured by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota.
Wausau West and East High Schools will each showcase a new video board in their respective gymnasiums, capable of live video feeds. The displays will measure 6.5 feet wide by 10 feet high with 10-millimeter line spacing. Not to be outdone, Thom Field, a shared football field, will receive a new video display with 15-millimeter line spacing, measuring 15 feet wide by 26 feet high. Of note, the display will be one of the largest in the state of Wisconsin.
"Daktronics has been very quick to answer questions and address any concerns," said Patrick Galligan, Wausau West High School Athletic Director. "We are very excited about the video display capabilities for sporting events and other events, like graduation. We will be displaying 3D graphics, school-created videos, sponsor videos and more."
Each high school will receive a set of stat panels that show player, foul and points statistics in the gymnasiums while auxiliary scoreboards ensure fans won’t miss a second of the action on the court.
“It was a pleasure to work with the Wausau High Schools and their Athletic Directors (AD) on developing this sponsor campaign,” said Chris Popowski, Daktronics Sports Marketing Regional Manager. “Daktronics Sports Marketing helped with the sponsor packaging and presentations, and the ADs have done a great job selling their sponsorships to help pay for their upgrades.”
The Wausau School District will also feast their ears on something new at the football games next year. Sportsound® will accompany the new video board to get fans on their feet and off their seats, bringing the game day experience to a whole new level.
Additionally, they will receive a bank of hours for the creation of digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services at the request of the school district.
