The fastest growing company in franchising and in fitness focuses on meeting consumer demand, creating member communities and setting up new franchisees for success before the doors are open

BOCA RATON, Fl. – Since the brand’s launch in 2010, Orangetheory® has been on a constant climb -- one that has resulted in more than 1,100 locations open across the globe and a pipeline of over 425 signed but not opened studios. In a nutshell, the brand continues to set the industry on fire.

In 2018, Orangetheory had 261 new gym openings, 215 domestic and 46 international, including establishing a presence in Poland and New Zealand. December specifically was a record breaking month with 44 new locations opened. In the new year, Orangetheory has plans to increase its growth rate, with a goal to open 250 to 300 new studios. The brand will surpass 1,000 open U.S. units in February and is seeking to grow its footprint domestically in the New York Metro area (including Connecticut and New Jersey), Texas (with a focus on Dallas and Houston) and California (with a focus on Sacramento, San Francisco, LA and San Diego).

Orangetheory’s growth is fueled by its science-based, full body approach to fitness, which leverages technology to measure performance and track progress. In a 60-minute class, led by a highly trained and certified coach, members target at least twelve minutes in the Orange Zone, which raises heart rate and charges up metabolism. The result is an increase in calorie burn post-workout, backed by the science of excessive post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC).

"On top of the great results we help our members achieve, something that really sets us apart and has played a key role in our growth is our sense of community,” said Mettler. “Orangetheory franchisees build a community within each market and that same sense of community is built among our members. We have people sharing the same workout in California with people at Orangetheory in London. It's people connecting within markets but also across states and even countries over shared goals. We track our members’ results through technology, which motivates them to work on their fitness goals, and to support and motivate each other, which you just don’t see at other brands. There are a lot of other concepts that try to imitate us, but the truth is, what sets Orangetheory apart from the rest just can’t be replicated.”

2018 was another great year for Orangetheory Fitness and the company is showing no signs of slowing down that momentum. “We celebrated our 1000th studio opening, and opened new locations in key markets like Raleigh, Los Angeles and Austin, that have already seen major success. As we continue to grow our global footprint, we will continue to refine our strategy and business model to keep our franchisees growing and our members achieving results.” said Mettler.
