RockBox Fitness Swings into ‘The Triangle’

CHARLOTTE, NC – RockBox Fitness – the state-of-the-art fitness franchise that combines boxing, kickboxing, and functional training into high-energy group workouts – is set to open its first Triangle Area location in Cary.

Located at 8204 Tryon Woods Drive, the new studio will be owned and operated by Ezra Leak and Quinn Lacy and is slated to open in March of 2019. The RockBox Fitness of Cary is the first of two studios that Leak and Lacy have committed to opening and operating together. 

“It’s a wholesome fitness concept that pushes every part of the body and focuses on why, what, and how people want to achieve their goals,” Ezra said. “It’s awesome to know that our team is professionally certified and trained to provide full support to all of our members – from nutrition and planning to the boot camps, classes and one-on-one sessions, we have the knowledge to create the blue print for our members’ success.”

Ezra and Quinn met through their mutual passion of helping people through fitness. They sought an opportunity to create a studio that would allow people to get away from their every-day stress and work toward their goals. Once they found the Charlotte-based RockBox they knew it was a perfect fit.

“Fitness helps people take care of their bodies and their minds,” Quinn added. “Every day at RockBox, we will get to work with people who are striving to improve their lives. Making a direct impact on someone’s life is an incredible privilege, and we are excited to introduce RockBox to Cary and be a part of the Triangle Area community.” 

Founded in 2017 and franchising since early 2018, RockBox Fitness was built to avoid the No. 1 problem with any fitness program – boredom. The studios feature all the boxing equipment and heavy bags one would expect for a boxing- and kickboxing-based workout, plus an array of functional training tools such as kettle bells, battle ropes and sleds (elliptical and treadmill machines need not apply). In addition, the studios are equipped with high-end sound systems to rock the tunes that keep members pumped and pushing hard. Color-adaptive lighting is also used to cue another level of psychological motivation. When the lights change, so does the intensity.

RockBox’s trainers make up the expertise and the passion that drives the workouts. Each trainer is professionally certified, accredited and has years-upon-years of experience boxing and kickboxing.
