Hires Director of Franchise Development to continue nationwide growth
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – RockBox Fitness, a state-of-the-art fitness franchise that combines boxing, kickboxing, and functional training into high-energy group workouts, has announced the hiring of Zachary Celaya as the brand’s Director of Franchise Development.
After spending the last two years in franchising at Driven Brands Inc., Celaya brings new knowledge and expertise to RockBox and will be responsible for the continued growth of the RockBox community across the country.
“We are thrilled to add Zac to our growing team,” RockBox Co-Founder Roger Martin said. “He is a true believer in our mission and what RockBox can bring to any community. We know his passion for fitness and helping people will be a driving force for the work we do on a daily basis.”
Celaya is the former Operations Manager and Franchise Business Consultant for Driven Brands, Inc. He brings with him a foundation of management and communication skills with a strong background in sales. Before joining the franchise industry, he worked in automotive industry leading a purchasing team and assisted in sales training for CarMax, which ultimately led to him taking a role at Driven Brands Inc.
“As a former collegiate athlete myself, I know how important it is to have a gym you can trust and feel comfortable in,” said Celaya. “After attending a RockBox class myself, I automatically knew I wanted to be a part of their mission. RockBox combined my passion for fitness and previous franchise experience to create a position tailored to me,” he added. “From my experience there are few business opportunities that allow you to dive into your community and impact people lives the way I have seen RockBox do”.
Founded in 2017 and franchising since early 2018, RockBox Fitness was built to avoid the No. 1 problem with any fitness program – boredom. The studios feature all the boxing equipment and heavy bags one would expect for a boxing- and kickboxing-based workout, plus an array of functional training tools like kettle bells, battle ropes and sleds (elliptical and treadmill machines need not apply). In addition, the studios are equipped with high-end sound systems to rock the tunes that keep members pumped and pushing hard. Color-adaptive lighting is also used to cue another level of psychological motivation. When the lights change, so does the intensity.
“Finding the right franchise partners is key to what we do. Seeing franchisees who truly believe in how RockBox can change lives is the core of our company,” Celaya said. “Having worked as a personal trainer myself, I’ve seen firsthand the changes exercise can have on a person’s life. I am excited to find others who share a mission of creating a tightknit community where everyone can accomplish their goals.”
With 11 locations already open and operating in five states, company plans call for having as many as 200 total units across the country by 2024. Franchise development agreements have already been signed for more than 20 studios throughout Arizona, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and now South Carolina.
