Designers Implement Sophisticated, Multi-Functional Acoustic Treatments For School’s New State-of-the-Art Sports Facilities
MINNEAPOLIS, AUGUST 29, 2019 –ASI Architectural, dedicated to providing elegant solutions for the design and build industry, has supplied sophisticated, multipurpose acoustical treatments for the University of Minnesota’s new state-of-the-art ‘Athlete’s Village.’ Comprised of training and academic facilities for the school’s Division I athletes, this new complex includes a football performance center and the Land O’Lakes, Inc. Center for Excellence, which serves as the main entrance. It is in these two areas that ASI Architectural’s Audition and Fusion solutions can be found. A video highlighting this project can also be found by clicking here.
In the main entrance, which boasts video walls, high ceilings and incredible light, the University selected ASI Architectural’s Audition series tongue and groove planks with acoustical backers. The solution, which features a customized application, is installed on walls and ceilings throughout the area. ASI’s sophisticated Audition wood panels and planks feature exclusive engineering that provides a monolithic linear appearance with the added benefits of acoustical absorption. Acoustical backers, such as those selected by the University, may also be used for added sound control. Featuring a variety of wood veneer finishes, the Audition line offers superior quality, high-performance and stylish acoustical treatments for any high-end design. Additionally, the tongue and groove style of the planks allow for easy field cutting and installation.
For the football auditorium and locker rooms, the University selected ASI Architectural’s Fusion solutions with acoustical backers for sound control. Incorporated into the facility’s design as customized wall and ceiling treatments, ASI’s perforated and non-perforated Fusion ceiling and wall panels are available in a variety of standard perforations and custom configurations. In the football auditorium, where players meet to review plays and address school assignments, the school selected University of Minnesota-branded wall panels, as well as perforated ceiling options. Additionally, the nearly football-shaped locker room, with LCD screens and LED lighting, features a customized perforated ceiling with the University’s branding. The Fusion solution, which is Class A fire rated, is available with a variety of wood veneer facing and perforation options.
“The University of Minnesota was looking for a sophisticated and elegant acoustical treatment for its state-of-the-art Athlete’s Village and we’re excited that they selected ASI Architectural to fill those requirements,” says Jon Mestad, brand manager, ASI Architectural. “This new facility is absolutely stunning and, as Minnesotans, we’re glad that UofM chose a local vendor to design a beautiful solution that will surely shine for years to come. We look forward to the University’s continued success and to potentially working together again as the school continues to progress into the future.”
