Business guru brothers Jeff & Mike Dudan team up for first Greensboro studio, eye S.C. next
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – When two titans of franchising and finance decide to work together on a deal, that can only mean good things for business. Former AdvantaClean founder & CEO Jeff Dudan and his brother, former Carolina Panthers Chief Financial Officer Mike Dudan have signed a development deal for five RockBox Fitness studios throughout North and South Carolina.
RockBox Fitness – the state-of-the-art fitness franchise that combines boxing, kickboxing, and functional training into high-energy group workouts – is scheduled to open its first Greensboro location in November. The first studio of the development deal will be located at 2601 Lawndale Drive, with the highly-anticipated pre-sale already underway. The second location is forthcoming in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina early next year, and the remaining three locations are targeted but not yet announced.
“My partnership with RockBox has been a terrific experience all around,” Jeff Dudan said. “[This brand is class-leading and the member experience is unmatched. The team at RockBox has been professional and accommodating every step of the way. Plus, the fact that now I get to open these five studios with my brother is just a cherry on top.”
Jeff Dudan is the former co-founder and CEO of AdvantaClean, which specializes in emergency water and mold removal, plus air-duct cleaning. He grew the company to more than 230 franchise territories in 37 states before selling it to Home Franchise Concepts in January 2019.
Working in various roles during his 16 years with NFL’s Carolina Panthers, Mike Dudan last served as the team’s CFO until March 2019. With an extensive career in finance, Mike has worked mainly in sports and entertainment and public accounting, with experience in many industries including retail, manufacturing and professional services.
“My introduction to RockBox has been thrilling, and Roger Martin and Steve Halloran [Co-Founders] have been top-notch partners,” Mike Dudan said. “Greensboro is a thriving city full of active, down-to-earth people. I’m very excited to be able to serve this community and to do it with my brother.”
Founded in 2017 and franchising since early 2018, RockBox Fitness was built to avoid the number one problem with any fitness program – boredom. The studios feature all the boxing equipment and heavy bags one would expect for a boxing- and kickboxing-based workout, plus an array of functional training tools like kettle bells, battle ropes and sleds (elliptical and treadmill machines need not apply). In addition, the studios are equipped with high-end sound systems to rock the tunes that keep members pumped and pushing hard. Color-adaptive lighting is also used to cue another level of psychological motivation. When the lights change, so does the intensity.
“We’re very fortunate to have Jeff and Mike as partners,” Martin said. “The North and South Carolina markets have welcomed us with open arms, and there has been a very strong demand for more studios. Steve and I are beyond confident that the Dudans will grow these locations in Greensboro, Mt. Pleasant, and beyond.”
RockBox has four different membership types from which to choose, ranging from unlimited training sessions to private lessons. Each trainer is professionally certified, accredited and has years-upon-years of experience boxing and kickboxing.
