May 6, 2021 (Anaheim, CA) – PREMIER Design + Build Group has completed the initial phase of work on a major outdoor recreation project for the Anaheim Family YMCA. During Phase One, PREMIER was tasked with creating a soccer and recreation center for the YMCA.
The new YMCA Community Complex includes six 60’ x 90’ soccer arenas with dividing walls and three multi-purpose fields. The six artificial turf fields are designed for five-on-five soccer and futsal for youth and adults. They feature perimeter netting and 19’ arena lighting. The largest multi-purpose field is designed to host martial arts, Zumba, preschool sports, and other family activities. The two smaller multi-purpose fields will be used for activities including yoga and tai chi and as practice facilities.
The complex spans 163,780 square feet and includes an accessible masonry restroom building. An adjacent parking lot built using pervious paving accommodates approximately 100 vehicles. The complex is located at 1422 West Broadway in Anaheim.

PREMIER’s Jeramy Mahfet served as project manager, working with project superintendent Steve Miller. PREMIER’s project partners included Wilson Mikami Corporation for civil engineering and Welsh Structures, Inc. for structural engineering. IMA served as landscape architect.

The Anaheim YMCA serves residents in the communities of Anaheim, Cypress, Stanton, and La Palma. The Community Center project was funded in part by a grant from the California Parks and Recreation Department and several large leadership grants. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the new YMCA Community Complex is tentatively slated for May 15.
