Players for an Alabama high school football team have been disciplined after post-game photos of them having cigars emerged online following the Class 5A championship in Birmingham last week.
According to Al.com, St. Clair County superintendent Rusty St. John confirmed that members of the Moody High School football team received "appropriate disciplinary action."
A now-deleted post on the Moody Football “X” page read, “Sorry about the locker room celebration — Send bill to City of Moody.”

“Winning a state championship is a historic achievement for the Moody community,” St. John said in a press release.
“However, certain actions by a small number of our student-athletes and staff members have unfortunately dampened the celebration. We do not condone the improper conduct of those involved, and we apologize to the AHSAA and Progressive (Protective) Stadium for their actions.”
St. John did not release the names of anyone who was disciplined, nor did he specify what the disciplinary actions were taken due to the fact that students were involved.
“While the behaviors involved in this incident do not reflect the standards we set for our student-athletes and staff, we do not want the actions of a few to overshadow the hard work, dedication and historic accomplishment of the Moody High School football team," St. John said.
