Since last weekend’s fight between parents at a Sugar Land, Texas, youth softball game, several governing bodies have handed down lifetime suspensions to those involved.

According to Fox 26 Houston, the United States Fastpitch Association condemned the incident and gave lifetime bans to the parents involved. The Texas Youth Softball organization has also cut ties with the team connected with the incident, the Illusions Gold Fastpitch, and banned the individuals involved in the fight.

In a statement, the USFA said, “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families affected by the heartbreaking incident Saturday night in Sugar Land, TX. Violence has no place in youth sports and will never be tolerated at USFA. Those determined by USFA to have participated in the physical altercation will receive a lifetime ban from USFA events. Our young athletes deserve better from all of us. USFA will continue to lead with one priority: providing a safe, positive environment for the athletes and families we serve. Protect the Game. Protect the Players. Set the Standard.”

Kiarious Hall and his wife, Jazmine Hall, were arrested following a fight at Imperial Park that left one man unconscious with several injuries. Jazmine was charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury and subsequently resigned from her position as a middle school assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School. Kiarious Hall is facing charges for two counts of assault.

As a result of these bans, neither Hall nor their child is welcome to participate on a USFA-sanctioned team or on a Texas Youth Softball-related team.

"We have been in contact with the Sugar Land Police Department since the early stages of the investigation," said district attorney Brian Middleton. "They are committed to a thorough investigation and the collection of evidence. As medical records of the severity of the injuries are gathered and submitted to our office, the charges may be upgraded or modified in accordance with the medical evidence submitted. This is common practice and formal charges by my office are not restricted to the offense at the time of arrest."
