Seven months after being arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a child and promoting obscenity to minors, a former high school athletic trainer in Kansas was sentenced Monday.

Brandon M. Martino, a Junction City High School athletic trainer when he was arrested in January, has been ordered to serve 60 days in the Geary County Detention Center, followed by 36 months of probation. According to KSNT, He will also register as a sex offender for 25 years.

A Kansas State Board of Healing Arts investigation found that Martino had sent a student “sexually explicit text messages,” including nude images of himself and a “video of himself masturbating.”  Martino was immediately suspended from school duties. The board suspended Martino’s license on June 21, and revoked it in July.

Martino is court ordered not to contact the minor victim, and can’t have any unsupervised contact with any girl under 18 years old during probation.

The Mercury reported in July that, according to a joint consent order provided to the board, Martino was treating a minor student when he began sending the student the explicit messages.
