Mizzou Pays $50K to Settle Defamation Suit

The University of Missouri has settled a defamation lawsuit brought against the school's athletic director Jim Sterk by South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley.

Angered over false statements Sterk made on a radio talk show, Staley filed a $75,000 lawsuit against Sterk. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Staley was awarded $50,000, half of which would be distributed to a charity and the other half to Staley’s attorneys.
