The athletic director at Soddy-Daisy (Tenn.) High School made it very clear that he doesn’t like girls and thinks they pretty much “ruin everything.”

Jared Hensley, who also serves as assistant principal at Soddy-Daisy, was put on administrative leave for comments he made in a video addressing the student body.

In the video, which is titled “A Helping of Hensley,” Hensley said that while he was the one who made a recent rule that bans athletic shorts during school, boys who were unhappy with the rule should place blame on the girls at Soddy-Daisy. “If you want to blame someone, blame the girls, because they pretty much ruin everything," Hensley said. "They ruin the dress code, well — ask Adam. Look at Eve. That's really all you got to get to. You can go back to the beginning of time.” Hensley continued, “So, it'll be like that for the rest of your life; get used to it, keep your mouth shut, suck it up and follow the rules."

The video was posted to YouTube but quickly taken down. However, the Chattanooga Times Free Press later uploaded it.

By Wednesday afternoon, Hamilton County Superintendent Bryan Johnson had released a statement saying the Hensley had been placed on leave.

"We have reviewed the video content," Johnson said, according to the Free Press. "We find the comments about young women in this video inexcusable, as the sentiments expressed do not align with the values of Hamilton County Schools. The situation is under investigation, and this employee has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately."
