According to a report from ESPN, which cites people familiar with the matter, the Cubs are considering a sportsbook inside the Friendly Confines, as well as a few locations just outside the stadium.

The team appears to be mulling everything from betting windows and automated kiosks to a true sportsbook venue inside the stadium.
The news comes as Illinois prepares to implement its new sports gambling law, which was passed June 2. The legislation, which was supported by the MLB, NBA and multiple team owners, would allow operators of facilities with a capacity greater than 17,000 to apply for a license to offer sports betting inside or within a five-block radius of the venues.Â
The Cubs declined to comment for the report, and none of the plans are official. ESPN reports that things are only in the initial discussion phase.Â
While the MLB and NBA currently prohibit any kind of betting inside their stadiums, the MLB is rumored to be reviewing the new legislation in Illinois.
"We will work with our clubs to explore the opportunities presented by the rapidly evolving sports betting landscape in a socially responsible manner," a spokesperson for MLB told ESPN.
