California governor Gavin Newsom has taken to Twitter to reveal a plan for allowing the gradual return of sports.
Newsom revealed his four-stage plan in a series of tweets.
California is still in Stage 1 of the plan, as that phase involves staying at home and “flattening the curve” as the state ramps up testing for the coronavirus. Stage 2 will consist of opening lower-risk workplaces, including retail and manufacturing.
Sports would be included in Stage 3, when higher-risk environments would be allowed to open without audiences.
In Stage 4 those higher-risk environments would be allowed to open with spectators in attendance.
