A number of student-athletes at the University of Wisconsin have taken to social media to call for the university to establish a “$2 million annual fund” solely for the purpose of assisting students of color.
According to the statement, the fund would “raise money to provide scholarships for, but limited to tuition, books, fees, room and board, and living costs for students of color who qualify through admissions to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison but financially may not be able to afford to attend.”
